What could be more festive than Christmas tree-shaped lollies?!
When we asked foodie blogger and talented recipe developer Beth Sachs to come up with some tasty but easy recipes for kids, we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed.
Beth creates wonderful and delicious recipes on her website Jam & Clotted Cream – and as a mum of three littlies, she also knows a thing or two about cooking with kids!
The only cooking involved in this Christmas recipe is done in the microwave, so smaller ones will need close supervision for that step. The marshmallows will get super hot if they’re zapped for too long so take care!
The Christmas trees are easy to cut out of a round cake tin, but if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try cutting the lollies into other festive shapes? Stars, stockings, presents – the possibilities are endless!

Edible Christmas Tree Lollies – by Beth Sachs
Makes 16 lollies
9 cups of puffed rice cereal
9 cups of marshmallows
Green food colouring
Tube of white icing
Sprinkles and edible balls to decorate
16 wooden lolly sticks or skewers
Step 1: Line 2 x 20cm round sandwich tins with baking paper and spray with a cake release spray.
Step 2: In a large microwaveable bowl put the puffed rice cereal, marshmallows and butter and heat in 30 second bursts until the marshmallows have melted and everything can be stirred together.
Step 3: Add the green food colouring until you get your desired colour then press half the mixture into each tin. Use a spatula to firmly pack it down, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Step 4: Ease the rounds out of cake tins and cut into wedges so they look like Christmas trees. Push a lolly stick into each wedge then decorate with the white icing and sprinkles.
